Amazon Alexa will be built-in across all Jaguar and Land Rover models equipped with the Jaguar Pivi Pro infotainment system, Jaguar Land Rover has announced.
And you don’t need to feel left out of your own certain older models. Alexa will be made available to more than 200,000 existing owners globally of compatible models via software-over-the-air updates5 – offered at no cost to customers, the company says.
Alexa enables drivers to control navigation and music, make calls, manage calendars, hear the news, check the weather, and control smart home devices just by asking – and with no phone required.
Owners of compatible vehicles will enjoy the benefits of intuitive voice-enabled experiences thanks to a no-cost software-over-the-air update.
This is good news for customers because the seamless integration brings the familiar Alexa experience into your car and provides natural voice interaction with Jaguar Pivi Pro features.
They include navigation, media playback, phone calls, and compatible smart devices.
It’s all part of the Jaguar Land Rover Reimagine strategy and represents a step-change in connected services capability.
It also means a modern luxury experience for you, the customer.
At the same time, it will accelerate Jaguar Land Rover’s transformation into a digital leader in the automotive industry.
The engineering teams from Jaguar Land Rover and Amazon worked in close partnership to ensure the seamless integration of Alexa with Jaguar Pivi Pro.

Alexa understands commonly-used commands, making the experience intuitive to use – this makes it easy for customers to operate commonly used functions while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
Requests such as ‘Alexa, navigate me home’, ‘Alexa, play my chill-out playlist’, and ‘Alexa show me nearby coffee shops’ can all be done by voice, without touching the infotainment touchscreen. Alexa also enables customers to check the news, and the weather and manage their schedule or shopping list, just by asking.
“The seamless integration of Amazon Alexa with our Jaguar Pivi Pro infotainment system gives customers simple, intuitive voice control of regularly used features, making the driving experience even more enjoyable,” said Alex Heslop, Director of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover. “The fact we can also offer this new feature to existing customers proves the value of our software-over-the-air-updates.”
